After much anticipation – We’re glad to announce that we’re back with the second edition of our Chef Takeover night! A little later than expected but keep Saturday May 19th free!

Our Chef takeover nights allow local, renowned chefs showcase their culinary talents and unique styles of cooking devising their own menu and using our kitchen for one night only to create you some beautifully delicious dishes!

Many of you missed out on our last takeover. At the end of March we had a sell out night with Thomas Palmer who owned the kitchen and wowed the guests with his stunning menu of familiar and traditional British favourites with a unique and modern twist- each dish was a work of art in itself and the flavour pairings were mind blowing!

At our next Chef takeover, we’re handing the reigns over to the one and only Sean Evans. Sean started his kitchen life at 15 in Bryngarw house as a kitchen porter. Being a KP gave him the opportunity to see kitchen life and watch what was going on….He was hooked from there!

Sean was KP for about 12months when the pastry chef left, he was then put onto the pastry section and given a real chance in the kitchen. He was trained in traditional patisserie by the head chef at the time ramnik ramji and his sister Stacey. That’s where his love of all things pastry started..and something he still loves doing today.

Sean stayed at Bryngarw for three years and from there has worked in various establishments in Bridgend and the surrounding areas, working his way up the ranks until he became head chef.

Sean’s style of cooking is very quirky. He has a passion for sourcing and using local ingredients that are often overlooked and pushing boundaries with his flavour pairings. His dishes are always works of art and an absolute feast.

His menu for the takeover is Fairytales and Nursery Rhymes. To book a table at the takeover at the Best Restaurant in Wales, call us on 01656646361.
